About Scott

Scott Johnson serves pastors, ministry leaders, and executives who carry significant responsibility. His work is shaped by decades of senior leadership experience, including service as a Captain in the United States Coast Guard, where he led large, complex organizations responsible for mission, people, and performance.

He previously served as Chief Director of an organization of more than 25,000 personnel, responsible for strategy, operations, and outcomes at scale. He understands first-hand the pressure of leading when the stakes are high and the path forward is not always clear.

His work is grounded in the conviction that leadership is formed from the inside out. Leaders partner with Scott to think clearly, navigate complexity, and steward responsibility with integrity—particularly in roles where decisions affect people, culture, and mission.

Leaders who work with Scott often value a steady presence, thoughtful perspective, and a space to think clearly about what matters most.

Scott is a Master Certified Intelligent Leadership Coach and an Associate Certified Coach (ICF), integrating the Intelligent Leadership® framework into his work. This approach emphasizes character, self-awareness, and leadership maturity as the foundation for sustainable leadership effectiveness.

In addition to his professional work, Scott serves as an elder and ministry leader in his local church. Ongoing involvement in church leadership deeply informs his understanding of the weight pastors and ministry leaders carry, as well as the importance of trust, discernment, and accountability.

Scott is a service-disabled veteran who served 27 years in the United States Coast Guard in senior leadership roles spanning operations, engineering, and national program management. He led large, geographically dispersed teams within complex regulatory and operational environments, shaping a deep respect for accountability, disciplined leadership, and the weight of decisions made on behalf of others.

Scott works selectively with leaders who value clarity over speed, formation over performance, and long-term faithfulness over short-term results.
